Ophthalmic Technician
Full-Time

Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is currently seeking an Ophthalmic Technician. Responsibilities include assisting patients through the course of an eye examination . An Ophthalmic Technician performs all areas of history taking and patient work ups, provides patient education per the physicians’ instructions, triage urgent calls and documenting the patient’s encounter in our medical records systems. The successful candidate will be friendly, efficient, possess a good work ethic and have a positive attitude. The candidate also must have attention to detail, multi-task and be able to adapt to a flexible schedule.

Criteria:

· Experience in optometry, or ophthalmology practice is recommended.

· Moderate to strong computer skills.

Surgical Registered Nurse
Full-Time

The Black Hills Regional Eye Surgery Center is seeking a registered nurse for a full-time position in our ophthalmic ambulatory surgical center.

At the Black Hills Eye Surgery Center, we are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for our patients through state-of-the-art medical care. We are committed to providing comprehensive eye care and surgery for children and adults. We stress excellent service and consideration for the patient, and constantly strive to provide the best medical and surgical care available anywhere.

Criteria:

  • Current South Dakota State License
  • Surgical experience is preferred but not required
  • Requires teamwork and flexibility

No weekends, nights or holidays. Primarily Monday-Thursday with occasional Fridays.

Surgery Coordinator
Full-Time

The Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is seeing a full-time Surgery Coordinator for a busy ophthalmology clinic. As a surgery coordinator you will be assisting the physician in scheduling all surgical procedures, assisting the patients with surgery instructions, organizing the required paperwork, and coordinating with the surgery center. Ideal candidate will have outstanding telephone, communication and computer skills. Must be organized, energetic and possess a positive, and professional attitude.

Criteria:

  • Experience in medical office setting or scheduling position.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of EMR.
  • Be able to travel.

Clinical Research Coordinator
Full-Time

A busy ophthalmic retinal practice is seeking an energetic individual with impeccable organizational skills to function as an additional full-time Clinical Study Coordinator for multiple on-going clinical trials (Phase II and III). A detail-oriented person with meticulous attention to detail is desired. Responsibilities include completion of Case Report Forms and of all AE/SAE forms, IP accountability, and all aspects of patient enrollment and follow-up visits. Phlebotomy and Infusion skills beneficial. The successful candidate will possess a good work ethic, positive attitude; must have an attention to detail and be able to adapt to a flexible schedule.

Criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science required.
  • Prior ophthalmic research experience is required
  • Moderate to strong computer skills.
  • A personable and professional demeanor in interacting with patients, co-workers, sponsors, and government representatives.

Patient Service Representative
Full-Time

A fast-paced ophthalmology practice in Rapid City seeks individual to fill full-time Front Desk position. Primary duties include checking-in and out patients, answering multiple telephone lines, and responding to patient records requests. Ideal candidate will have outstanding telephone, secretarial, communication and computer skills. Must be organized, multi-task oriented, energetic and possess a positive, and professional attitude.

Criteria:

  • Previous medical receptionist experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to effectively sustain multiple tasks.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy.
  • Be able to travel.
