Surgical Technician
Full-Time

The Black Hills Regional Eye Surgery Center is seeking a Operating Room Technician for a position in our ophthalmic ambulatory surgical center.

The ideal candidate will be preparing and maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout surgery. This includes setting up the instruments and equipment required for the procedure, preparing the patient for surgery, and passing the surgeon instruments throughout the procedure.
Criteria:
- Will provide surgical assistance to the physician/surgeon
- Experience helpful, but not required, of skill and knowledge in surgical scrub techniques and instrumentation use, application and care.
- Requires teamwork and flexibility

Ophthalmic Technician
Full-Time
The Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is currently seeking an Ophthalmic Technician.
An Ophthalmic Technician is a versatile employee who provides technical services to patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry and keratometry. Prepares patients for exams and procedures along with patient education per the physicians’ instructions. Triage urgent calls and documenting the patients encounter in our medical records system. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. There are also certifications that can be achieved for further education such as Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
A successful candidate will be friendly, efficient, and possess a great work ethic with attendance and have a positive attitude. A candidate must also have attention to detail, ability to multi-task and adapt to a flexible schedule which may include some day travel with a team.

- Experience in medical, optometry, or ophthalmology practice preferred but not required. We will train the right candidates.

Medical Billing Specialist
Full-Time
The Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is seeking a qualified patient accounts representative for a full-time position. As a patient account representative, you’ll be responsible for surgical pre-authorizations and payment arrangements, ensuring proper billing and insurance payment posting, working with patients regarding outstanding bills, and handling incoming patient and insurance calls, and assisting with billing discrepancy/issues. The successful candidate must be detail and multi-task oriented and possess a positive attitude.
Criteria:
· Experience in medical/surgical pre-authorizations, coding, insurance processing, and collections preferred, but not required. Previous Healthcare employment preferred.
· Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
· Work independently and as part of team.
· Able to effectively sustain multiple tasks.

Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC)
Full-Time
A busy ophthalmic retinal practice is seeking an energetic individual with impeccable organizational skills to function as a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) for multiple on-going clinical trials (Phase II and III). A detail-oriented person with meticulous attention to detail is desired. Responsibilities include completion of Case Report Forms and of all AE/SAE forms, and all aspects of patient enrollment and follow-up visits. Phlebotomy and Infusion skills beneficial. The successful candidate will possess a good work ethic, positive attitude; must have an attention to detail and be able to adapt to a flexible schedule. Prior experience as a CRC required.
Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor of Science required.
- Prior ophthalmic research experience is required
- Moderate to strong computer skills.
- A personable and professional demeanor in interacting with patients, co-workers, sponsors, and government representatives.

Patient Service Representative
Full-Time
A fast-paced ophthalmology practice in Rapid City is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Front Desk position. Primary duties include checking-in and out patients, answering multiple telephone lines, and responding to patient records requests. Ideal candidate will have outstanding telephone, secretarial, communication and computer skills. Must be organized, multi-task oriented, energetic and possess a positive, and professional attitude.
Criteria:
- Previous medical receptionist experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
- Able to effectively sustain multiple tasks.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy.
- Be able to travel.
