ORA System
The Eye Institute is proud to be offering the latest in Cataract Technology, the ORA System with VerifEye.
ORA System™Technology is a sophisticated device used to provide real-time measurements of the patient’s eye–during cataract surgery, not possible with today’s conventional instruments.
Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA) can maximize the potential for vision improvement after cataract surgery or laser vision correction treatment. This effective technology allows our eye surgeons to customize your vision more precisely than ever before.
During cataract surgery, the surgeon removes your cloudy, natural lens and replaces it with an intraocular lens implant, or IOL. The ORA is attached to the surgical microscope and utilizes intraoperative wavefront aberrometry to measure the refractive power of the eye once the cataract is removed.
All of our cataract surgeons use this device. ORA is not essential for surgery but it acts as a GPS, helping our doctors navigate your unique eye during surgery. It provides our surgeons with real-time guidance to assist in surgical outcomes.
