Steve Khachikian, MD Offering Corneal Collagen Crosslinking

Cross LinkingSteve Khachikian, MD at Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is participating in a clinical research trial for crosslinking.

Patients are eligible for this study if they are 12 years of age or older and have been diagnosed with Keratoconus or Corneal Ectasia. Vision must be 20/25 or less and K’s greater than 47.0 Diopters with pachymetry of at least 375um. The duration of the Study is 12 months. During the study, Dr. Khachikian will use UV illumination, Riboflavin eye drops, along with the Avedro KXL System for crosslinking. This trial is studying whether a one-time treatment will strengthen the cornea so that the progression of Keratoconus and Corneal Ectasia is slowed or stopped.
