Group of PeopleEvery year the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute hosts a Continuing Education program for local and regional Optometrists. The program has grown significantly over the years and topped off at 66 OD’s in attendance for 2013. The program attracts OD’s from Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The Eye Institute provides CE credits to the OD’s for their attendance along with a day of learning and exploring eye related topics. The program speakers included Dr. Robert Nixon and Dr. Scott Schirber from the Eye Institute, along with Dr. Justis Ehlers, Dr. Bala Ambati, Dr. Melissa Barnett, and Korry Petterson and Lance Allen. Topics covered included glaucoma, refractive surgery, scleral contact lenses, meaningful use, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and corneal eye disease.

Following the program, Dr. Ehlers, Dr. Barnett, and Dr. Ambati (pictured left to right) enjoyed their first visit to Mount Rushmore.
