Eye Institute patient, Janet King, shares her experience about her cataract surgery at Black Hills Regional Eye Institute in Rapid City, SD.  Janet had surgery with Dr. Steve Khachikian and elected to have a multifocal IOL implant instead of the standard lens implant as traditionally used in cataract surgery.  With multifocal IOL's, patients lessen their dependance on glasses for near, intermediate, and distance vision.

Dr. Steve Khachikian made history yesterday, as he transplanted the first artificial corneal transplant using the Boston Keratoprosthesis or K-Pro.  K-Pro is used for patients that have had multiple corneal transplants fail.
