When patients have cataract surgery, they now have an option to choose between a single vision IOL or multifocal IOL.  Multifocal IOLs can lessen the dependence on glasses for distance, intermediate, and near vision after cataract surgery.

Many people think that astigmatism is a horrible eye condition that doesn't have any treatment options.  There are several surgical options that can reduce the dependence of glasses or contacts because of astigmatism.

Even though you have had refractive surgery, it's still important to have yearly eye exams.  Don't forget to visit your Optometrist yearly to check for overall eye health.
